Titanium-aluminum alloy is a cornerstone in the vacuum coating industry. It can be precisely alloyed into specific ratios for use in magnetron sputtering coating. Several atomic composition ratios of titanium and aluminum are common, including 90:10, 80:20, 70:30, 50:50, 30:70, 20:80, and 10:90. Alloys where the titanium content is 50% or higher are typically produced by vacuum casting. Conversely, with higher aluminum content, powder metallurgy is employed to meet material specifications. Alloys with 80% or more titanium can also undergo forging and rolling.
