Ferrovanadium(ferrovanadium alloy) is a ferro alloy used in the steel industry. Its main components are vanadium and iron, with impurities such as sulfur, phosphorus, silicon, and aluminum. FeV is obtained by carbon reduction of vanadium pentoxide in an electric furnace, or by the aluminothermic reduction of vanadium pentoxide in an electric furnace. It is widely used as an element additive in the smelting of vanadium-containing alloy steel and alloy cast iron, as well as in the manufacture of permanent magnets.

The vanadium content in ferrovanadium varies according to specific alloy formulations and manufacturing requirements. Generally, the vanadium content in ferrovanadium is typically between 30% and 80%, with iron comprising the remainder. There are three types of ferrovanadium based on vanadium content: FeV40, FeV60, and FeV80, used as additives in the smelting of alloy steel and low-alloy steel. Vanadium aluminum alloys are used in titanium alloy production, commonly referred to as "VQ" VAl.
